While a large number of people are losing their jobs, homes, savings and worrying about their financial security, others just like you & me all over the world are creating incomes with an internet home business. People just like you and me have realized that we no longer want to be controlled by our finances and instead need to independently secure our own financial futures.Times of crisis and adversity have always been the beginnings of great opportunities and change. Knowing where to look and embrace the opportunities presented to us is the real challenge.

While most are just making a living, others just like you and me have been using the internet to create time freedom, build wealth and create whatever it is you want to create. There are about 200,000 people a WEEK starting a home based business, so people do realize they need a plan B. Everywhere you look you can see that the recession is real...but what no one will tell you is that the recession does NOT exist on the Internet!

I am going to assume that because you are reading this you understand that building an internet business allows you to tap into billions of potential clients or customers in hundreds of different countries for a very little investment and a potentially infinite return.

So what are the different ways you can make money on the internet? There are dozens, but Iet's focus on the four main strategies. Theses four strategies are the most popular and most effective that will give you the best chance at success.

Internet Business Opportunity #1: Sell your own product or service using the internet.

This strategy has lots of potential. When you have your own product or service you retain all of the control and all of the profit. However, I feel this strategy is the MOST difficult. Especially for a new internet marketer. There are so many elements that have to be successfully implemented to create a successful product or service that an inexperienced entrepreneur would certainly fall into the 80% of businesses who fail in their first 5 years. This should only be attempted after you understand and have mastered, to some degree, some basic skills that have to be learned like:

• website creation
• market research
• sales copy
• conversions
• traffic generation, etc...

I do feel it's a good idea to eventually create your own product or service to sell online but I feel it's safer if you start with an easier strategy. Start smaller, invest a little, minimize your risk, learn and develop skill while you generate capital to grow your business.

Many are familiar with this next strategy so I felt it should be included.

Internet Home Business Opportunity #2: ebay, Online Auction Sites, and Drop Shipping.

Auction sites like ebay are an easy way for you to set up shop online without having to know anything about setting up websites, getting visitors and additional marketing strategies like search engine optimization. Actually, I feel it's a great starting point if you have a bunch of things laying around your home that are collecting dust. Can it work for you? I'm not sure, all I know is I increased my income by close to $10,000 last year getting rid of things that were in the garage, storage, or I just simply didn't use anymore.

To get started you simply create your account on ebay (or similar auction sites) and begin selling your items or outsource to drop ship items. Sounds simple right? It can be, if you know how to do it right. I don't highly recommend it without investing in some information on how to do either method properly. It is pretty simple to just list your items and sell them but there are some things you can learn about ebay that will maximize your return. And there are some good courses on how to do this, but I would recommend doing some in-depth research before deciding on one to purchase.

While I do feel ebay is a good starting point, there are some challenges and limitations that I feel do not make this an ideal internet home based business choice. Yes, some people to make a living with this but I feel there are easier ways to make money online and strategies with much more leverage that can simply maximize your time and potential return for your time and money invested.

So, with that, let's move on to...

Internet Home Based Business Opportunity #3: Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate Marketing refers to the process of marketing other peoples products and services. You can find some great courses on affiliate marketing, as well as the other 2 options mentioned above. But, the purpose of this article is to simplify the internet for you so that you have the important fundamentals, the basic concepts, and a simple game plan so that you can get out there and get going generating some money right away as you learn and develop your skills.

The benefits of affiliate marketing are many:

• You don't have to come up with any ideas
• You don't have to have a product or service of your own
• You don't need to have a website
• You can do it with ZERO investment
• You have access to thousands of companies with affiliate programs like: Amazon, Best Buy, Dell, Target...the list goes on

To get started you simply sign up with one of the affiliate programs for free. At that time you will get an affiliate link to promote. It is usually a company replicated website that is linked to your account. Your job is to promote that link and get visitors to visit and purchase items from your replicated website. If they purchase a product from your website, you get a commission. The best programs have several different affiliate products at different price points and again, if they purchase, you get a commission. Now that's leverage. All you did was get the visitor to go to the website the company gave you. It doesn't get much simpler than that. Can affiliate marketing work for you? I'm really not sure, all I know is I was able to add an extra $3200 to my income last year with affiliate marketing!

Again, it sounds easy at least. The truth is just signing up for an affiliate account, even with the most popular programs, will not make you money. A simple affiliate link is fine and you may be able to make a few dollars here and there... but to really be successful with affiliate marketing you will need to have your very own unique websites. You will also need to know how to get traffic to those sites and understand the concept of list building. (I will explain how you can do that shortly.)

Affiliate marketing is the best strategy to start with if you are new to the internet. You can make some money pretty quickly if you learn effective traffic generation (getting visitors to your site that actually want to buy what you are offering) and the potential is actually unlimited. Now, there are affiliate products with fairly small commissions (5-10% of the purchase price and others with higher commissions of 30-60% commissions. Of course you probably also feel it only makes sense to promote items with higher commissions and I can show you how to find these higher commission products. Your biggest challenge to success with affiliate marketing will be traffic. Generating visitors to your website is the single most important skill you will need to master and I can show you how to do this. After all I have a site that ranks #2 in google for it's keyword and generates it's own sales and traffic on complete autopilot every month.

But, before we get to that, let's finish up with our review of the most popular internet home business opportunities.

Internet Home Business Opportunity #4: Network Marketing (aka Direct Sales aka MLM)

A quick disclaimer: Some of you reading this might automatically think of specific companies, hotel meetings, and chasing after friends or family trying to sell them soap, lipstick, or Tupperware. Remember, this is about the internet so I ask if you have any old misconceptions about network marketing, I ask you kindly set them aside and learn about the NEW Internet Style of network marketing.

For those of you who think "pyramid scheme" or "scam" let me give you 4 names:

Warren Buffet, Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Richard Branson. Each of these Billionaires is involved in one way or another in the network marketing industry. So, unless you know something that they and their team of lawyers don't...I suggest you question your assumptions.

With that out the way, let's talk about making a lot of money! Why network marketing?? Simple. Leverage.

In order to create true wealth, time freedom, and a business that is not dependent on your personal work you MUST have leverage. In your business you should always be asking yourself "How can I get someone else to do this for me?" and "How can I scale this so I can do MORE business with LESS work?"

As employees our income is tied directly to time and our personal effort. Even in most small businesses it's true that if you stop working, your income stops also.
